When The Brook Dries Up…

prophetic insight Oct 28, 2019

Eventually the brook dried up because of the drought. Then God spoke to him: “Get up and go to Zarephath in Sidon and live there. I’ve instructed a woman who lives there, a widow, to feed you.” -1 Kings 17:7-9 MSG

I hear the Spirit of the Lord saying, “It is time for you to get up and go to your Zeraphath in Sidon. The brook has dried up and I have called you to transition into the new place where I have called you to live. I have instructed others to feed you, to take care of you, so that you can live. It’s a season of movement, transition, of settling your yesterdays and moving on. It’s time to say goodbye to the past season and all that associated with it. I am creating space in your life for the new. I am ushering you into your place of destiny where you will discover your purpose and make a difference.”

It’s time to identify the brook in your life that has dried up. Is it a job you have been working at? Is it a relationship that has gone toxic and abusive? Is it a church where the glory cloud has moved from? Only you know what the brook that has dried up in your life is. Hear the voice of the Lord: “Get up and go to the new place where I am sending you. Even if you don’t know where I am sending you, as you step out by faith, you will see me open up doors for you. Have I not told you that I’ve instructed people to feed you? I will provide for you. You must do what you have been called to do. You must prophesy. You must continue your journey. It may be difficult leaving the dried up brook because it’s what you are familiar with but the place I have for you is full of miracles!”

So he got up and went to Zarephath. As he came to the entrance of the village he met a woman, a widow, gathering firewood. He asked her, “Please, would you bring me a little water in a jug? I need a drink.” As she went to get it, he called out, “And while you’re at it, would you bring me something to eat?”  She said, “I swear, as surely as your God lives, I don’t have so much as a biscuit. I have a handful of flour in a jar and a little oil in a bottle; you found me scratching together just enough firewood to make a last meal for my son and me. After we eat it, we’ll die.” Elijah said to her, “Don’t worry about a thing. Go ahead and do what you’ve said. But first make a small biscuit for me and bring it back here. Then go ahead and make a meal from what’s left for you and your son. This is the word of the God of Israel: ‘The jar of flour will not run out and the bottle of oil will not become empty before God sends rain on the land and ends this drought.’” -1 Kings 17:10-14 MSG

I prophesy over you that as you get up and go, that the Lord will not only provide for you but also for those who take care of you. He will use you to release the miraculous. Just like the Lord spoke through Elijah, The jar of flour will not run out and the bottle of oil will not become empty before God sends rain on the land and ends this drought” so it shall be with you.  The flour represents the Word of the Lord and the oil represents the anointing. Neither shall run out for you until the Lord sends rain on the land and the drought ends.

And she went right off and did it, did just as Elijah asked. And it turned out as he said—daily food for her and her family. The jar of meal didn’t run out and the bottle of oil didn’t become empty: God’s promise fulfilled to the letter, exactly as Elijah had delivered it! -1 Kings 17:15-16 MSG

I prophesy that as you read this, a release of the supernatural power of God is quickening you to carry you through with the strength you need. He is providing nutrition for your soul and for your spirit. He is going to feed until you want no more! He is the God of excess and of abundance. He is more than enough! He will fulfill His promise to you to the letter, exactly as the Prophets have delivered it to you. He will make His power known in this hour and you will never be the same! For this is the Word of the Lord and He surely shall watch over it making sure it comes to pass.
