A Miracle In The Melody

So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my understanding; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my understanding. -1 Corinthians 14:15 

I hear the Spirit of the Lord saying, “There is a miracle in the melody.” All we really need in this season is spiritual song on our lips. When we sing in the Spirit, our worship rises to God and His glory descends. When the glory is present miracles begin to manifest. There have been moments where God met me in the melody. His Spirit overwhelmed me. His power touched my life and branded me with His fire.

For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit. -1 Corinthians 14:2

When I pray, or sing in tongues, I have no idea what I am saying. All I know is that I am uttering mysteries by the Spirit of God. I am praying His perfect will for my life. I don’t anything that is outside of His will. I don’t desire to “miss God”. That’s why I like Paul pray in the Spirit more than many of you. I don’t say that to boast, I say it because I know that it is a secret weapon. There have been times when I found myself ministering at an altar with dozens of people lined up and I went down the line and placed my hand on the people for a second and just prayed in tongues or began singing in the Spirit. Before I even touched many of them, the power of God hit them and they fell out.

Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. -Colossians 3:16 

Singing in the Spirit does something to your heart. God changes you from the inside out. Before God does a miracle around you and through you, He will do a miracle in you. He longs to put His heart in you. His heart is a heart full of gratitude and thanksgiving. When you have His heart, He not only meets your needs. He will give you the things that you want because the things that He wants are the things that He wants. It becomes so much less about you and more about Him and reaching people for His glory.

John answered them all, “I baptize you with water. But one who is more powerful than I will come, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. -Luke 3:16

Perhaps you are reading this prophetic word, and you haven’t received your prayer language. Maybe you haven’t “lost your English” and spoken in other tongues. Praying in tongues is different that the gift of tongues and interpretation. In the passage above, John the Baptist is talking about Jesus Christ. Jesus alone is the one that baptizes you in the Holy Spirit and with fire. The same applies to you today. When you receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit, it’s not because a Pastor or an Evangelist or a Prophet gives it to you. It’s because Jesus comes and He will immerse you in a fiery river of liquid love. Everything changes when His power comes upon you. The baptism in the Holy Spirit will do to you what a phone booth does to Clark Kent.

All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. -Acts 2:4

On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit was poured out in the Upper Room. Around 120 people were waiting for the promise that Jesus made to them. He would not leave us as orphans (John 14:18) but give us the Comforter (John 14:26) would come and teach them all things and guide them into the truth and glorify the Son (John 16:13-14). Then suddenly there was a sound from Heaven like a mighty rushing wind and all of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and they began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit game them utterance.

And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues -Mark 16:17

Acts 19:6 declares, When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied. We must never shy away from the signs and wonders. We need the supernatural. God is raising up a remnant of leaders who will not be concerned with filling a room with people but filling lives with the power of God. Nothing wins souls like miracles, signs, and wonders! There is no denying that God is real when a miracle takes place. Real Bible faith will lead you to a real Bible experience.

Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.” And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. -John 20:21-22

Jesus longs to baptize you afresh today. He longs to do a miracle in your melody. Receive the Holy Spirit today and be filled with power from the Lord Most High. Seek Him with all your heart and you will find Him. There is a miracle taking place. Ask the Lord to open your eyes and your heart so that you can see what He is doing in you, through you, and around you for His glory and His great fame.
